Our next meeting of the Community, on 14th November, is a crucial one for the Community.  We will formally nominate our Management Council (you may nominate yourself of course), who will decide the future direction and activities of the Community, and we will make initial decisions about where and how we should proceed in the coming months.  All members who have paid the fee will receive an email from me with the link to the meeting.  Please attend – if you cannot, let us know and we will ensure you are fully informed.

To start the discussion of the future, following are some thoughts, although of course the future direction is set by the Members:-

CKI have received an enquiry from KPMG about collaboration on a major project and hope to identify some opportunities for interested Community Members – should this be a service operated by the Community?

We generally feel that the current direction of customs development in the EU does not adequately reflect concerns of traders – should we work on a submission to TAXUD?

Should we register as a lobbyist with EC/UK/other Governments?

CKI currently advertise training courses and webinars – should we also advertise available expertise/consultancy?

Should we articulate a Community VISION?  Enrika has good ideas.
