Bulgaria also has its own customs attachés in a number of countries, but as far as I know, they primarily serve administrative cooperation at the level of customs administrations. I don’t know of a case in which the business sought assistance from our customs attache somewhere, but rather the Bulgarian customs could communicate better with their colleagues from this country through him.

It might be a good idea to find out more about the role and meaning of this position, anyway the state pays the costs, not the customs in particular. I think that the customs attaché is not an employee of the customs administration, but part of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and should protect the interests of all interested parties.
