Happy International Customs Day!

May I share some thoughts on the the theme of the year “Customs Engaging Traditional and New Partners with Purpose”. It reminded me of the recent European Space Agency (ESA) considerations, shared in a podcast of the Economist. It is a very important theme, as we can see from the collaboration between NASA and SpaceX. Excellent results delivered! ESA is considering following the path of this cooperation model. An interesting fact – this is also important in the context of developing the lunar economy. And yes, it is about growth of exports to the moon and imports from there!

Considering the growing complexity customs community has to deal with, let us use this occasion to wish that the WCO Theme of the Year 2024 will inspire many exciting collaborations between Customs and their partners from Private sector around the world, leading to outstanding results!
